About The Blogger

e4984ca87922fa34fc50e4c045a25d97.image.129x200As the name “Scattershot” may imply, this is a personal blog that may touch on a wide variety of subjects, issues, and blathering.

Congenital Heart Defects

In 2000, when my son was a year old, he was diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Defect, specifically Subaortic Stenosis. So far, we have been through 3 open heart surgeries, a number of “lesser” procedures, and he is now pacemaker dependent with a complete heart block (Third-Degree Atrioventricular Block). As he has gotten older, we have become more active and outspoken about a variety of CHD-related issues and sharing issues related to dealing with CHD.

Please note these posts have been moved to a dedicated blog at http://anotherchdjourney.blogspot.com/ and will no longer appear here.

Work

OrangeNinjaFor 13 years, I owned a small web hosting company called DrakNet, and then I sold in 2010 it to A Small Orange. ASO bought me, and HostNine, and SEO Web Hosting, and I’m now the Customer Experience Manager Director of Customer Service for all three brands. A fair portion of this blog will likely focus on issues relating to web hosting in one way or another.

It should be noted (and always assumed) that since my company name and logo isn’t all over my blog, obviously nothing I say here should be attributed to my company or representing any company I have worked for, work for now, or may work for in the future. It is, though, a big part of my life so I’ll certainly gab about it.

Life & Family

lonnieI’ve been happily married since 2004 to a martial artist, and in 2010 with the sale proceeds, we bought a little piece of land (just 1 acre) on the outskirts of Austin. It is far enough away from civilization that it can actually be considered “the sticks”, and as this is my first experience living long term in “the sticks”, a number of posts will probably focus on my adjustment to living in the country and how it’s different from suburbia.

I have 8 cats, and 1 greyhounds.

My child has enrolled in a pilot program with the State of Texas to attend virtual public school at home at a crossroads of public schooling and home schooling, and a number of blog posts will likely focus on that experience as well.

I’m also a “vaper”, and am using vaping to quit a lifelong addiction to cigarettes.

Contact & Social Media

in-case-of-fire-exit-building-before-tweeting-about-it (1)On jenlepp.com you can find additional Social Networks information as well as a contact form, while this site only contains a link to Twitter and the RSS feeds of this blog.

Follow me, don’t follow me, friend me or don’t. I enjoy the social networks but don’t live and die by my follower count and nothing done on social networks is designed to “become” a Social Network “personality”. I enjoy social media for the socialization, and there is no grand master plan to become high profile enough to someday have tea with Seth Godin.

If you are looking for my incredible husband, martial artist extraordinaire with more black belts than I can even remember, you can find his site at mrlepp.com.
